How it works

1Add a photo

Drop a file, tap to browse, or paste an image URL (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 30MB).

2Background removed

Our server runs the image through an AI segmentation model and cuts out the subject in a couple of seconds.

3Fine-tune it

Soften edges, swap in a solid colour, or use the restore/erase brush to fix anything the model missed.

4Download

Save the result as a transparent PNG. Nothing is stored on our end afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Is bgrm really free to use?

Yes. There's no signup, no watermark, and no paywall on the core background-removal tool.

Is my photo stored anywhere?

No. Your image is streamed to our server, processed in memory, and sent back; it's never written to a database, and any temporary upload file is deleted the moment the request finishes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What image formats and sizes are supported?

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 30MB per image, whether you upload a file or paste a URL.

Can I paste a URL instead of uploading a file?

Yes: paste a public http(s) link to an image and bgrm fetches and processes it the same way as an upload.

Can I fix the cutout if the AI misses something?

Yes. Use the restore brush to paint back parts the model cut away, or the erase brush to remove leftover bits it kept, plus an edge-softness slider for smoother hair and fur.

Do you use my photos to train AI models?

No. bgrm runs a pre-trained open-source model (rembg / isnet-general-use); your images aren't retained, reviewed, or used to train anything.
